 Teacher Training:

 We will offer teacher training for the next school year from 9 am to 1 pm in September 2012 and January 2013. Fourth grade teachers who wish to bring their class to the mine for a tour MUST ATTEND one of these session if they have not attended before. Dates will be announced as soon as possible. Watch this site and the Hotwire publication for details.

Public Tours Offered:

The Mine offers public tours for small groups. If you are interested in booking a tour please call Jim Ashe at 702-565-8012 or 702-545-6668. Also volunteer opportunities are available for new tour guides. Training is free! Come have fun and learn some Nevada history, too.

Volunteers Needed:

We are in need of adult docents. No experience necessary, scripts are provided and schedules are very flexible. If you know of someone who would be interested in volunteering at the Mine 1-5 days a week from 9:30-12 noon, October 1-May 30, please have them contact:   Jim Ashe, Docent Coordinator, at 545-6668.

Donations Welcomed:

Because we are a non-profit foundation dedicated to insuring that all students have the opportunity to come to the mine and attend the tours we welcome any and all donations. We appreciate your time and your talents and anything that you can donate for our cause. In April we hold a Gala Dinner and Auction which is our major fund raiser of the year. We are always on the lookout for auction items. If you have any donation that you would be willing to donate please call us at the mine at  702-779-3546.

2012 Gala Date Set

Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 14, 2012. That's the date of the 15th annual Gala and Auction fund raiser for the McCaw School of Mines. It will be held at 6 p.m. at Sam's Town Live and will be a great evening! Don't miss out and if you have any items you would like to donate for the live or silent auction please let us know.
